In order to prepare for your session

1. Keep a food journal for the 3 days prior to your appointment, including:
Meals
Snacks
Beverages
Note: Quantities are not important

2. If diet recorded in the food journal does not reflect what you normally eat, please add a fourth day that details your normal regimen.

3. List current medications and/or supplements you are taking.

4. If you have any recent lab reports from a medical doctor (e.g. urine, blood lab test results), please bring them to your appointment, as Marilyn may find them useful. These will be returned to you.

Note: If you have arranged to have blood sugar monitoring or metabolic typing done as well, please drink only water from 9:00pm the night before your appointment.

If you are having metabolic typing done, please wear no lipstick, as we will be doing saliva testing. In the morning on the day of your appointment, upon arising, drink at least 2 large glasses of water as we will be asking for a urine sample.
When you arrive for your appointment

You should find parking to be very accessible on the street. We are located at the end of a spacious round-about in residential Cordova Bay. You will find directions here.

Your appointment should take approximately 2 1/2  to 3 hours. Upon arriving you will be asked to fill out a health record and sign a consent form.

At your first appointment, a series of baseline readings, including height, weight, body fat percentage, body mass index, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and random blood sugar reading will be taken.  Your health record will be briefly reviewed and you will have the opportunity to give pertinent info and ask questions.

Nutritional microscopy differs from traditional medical blood testing.  Rather than you donating a vial of blood, only a small droplet of blood is taken from a fingertip prick and placed onto a microscope slide.  You will view your blood sample in living action using a powerful microscope with 1500X magnification that displays on a video-equipped monitor. The analysis will determine how active your immune system is. You will watch the white blood cells zapping bacteria - or sleeping on the job. Searches for cholesterol, plaque, or uric acid and determining if your digestion is compromised and whether you are assimilating what you eat will be discovered. Do you have bacterial or fungal forms in the blood, or are your platelets clumping together? Are the red blood cells a uniform size and shape, floating freely in the plasma, or are they clumped together compromising your energy and sense of well-being?

Once the analysis is complete, a nutritional and lifestyle plan to bring you into balance and vitality will be formulated just for you specifically. You will also receive several handouts including foods to eat, recipe ideas and lifestyle guidelines.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the session as you explore the amazing world of your own personal inner environment. Marilyn will respond to email questions afterwards free of charge to a maximum of 3 questions
